What is the expiry date of the candles?

Scented candles can lose/ change their scent and discolour overtime. We encourage you to use our candles within a year of opening. Please store them in a cool and dry place and away from direct sunlight.

Why is the colour/ appearance of the candles different?

We handcraft and hand pour every single one of our candles. Hence, there may be slight imperfections in the colour (frosting)/ appearance (uneven surface) for each batch of candles made. These do not affect the performance of the candles.

How long does the candle burn for?

Burn times stated below are approximate estimates if you strictly follow our recommended burning tips. Depending on candle care, it may vary from person to person.

3.1oz. 88g Net Weight: ~17 hours

8oz. 228g Net Weight: ~44 hours

How can I get the most out of the candle?

Trim wick to 1/4 inch before every burn. Light the wick and keep it burning till melt pool reaches the edges of the jar, but no more than 4h. This ensures an even burn and keeps the candle pretty.

Please place your candle on an even surface and away from any fans, open windows or doors, air conditioners, and vents. Please also keep candle away from flammable objects, young children and pets.

Cover with lid to snuff out flame instead of blowing out to prevent smoking. Keep lid on to help seal in the scent when not in use and place it in a cool, dry place.

Candle has reached the end of its life when there is 1/2 inch of wax left. Further burning may damage the candle jar.

Why is the candle producing soot?

The candle is producing soot as the wick gets too high causing the flame to be bigger. This may happen if the wick is not trimmed before every burn. Please trim the wick to 1/4 inch before burning to minimize soot and slow down the burning process.

I have accidentally trimmed the wick too short. What should I do?

Light the candle and wait for the melt pool to form. Then pour out enough wax for the wick to burn properly.

Why is the top rough and bumpy after burning?

The rough, bumpy top after burning our candle is caused when the hot wax in the melt pool cools and solidifies at an inconsistent rate. This is a feature of soy wax and does not affect the performance of the candle.

Why is the candle sweating?

Soy wax may release oils due to humidity and heat. This does not affect the performance of the candle.

Why is the candle tunneling?

‘Tunneling’ is when the wick burns a hole straight down the middle of the candle, leaving a rim of solid, unused wax around the edges of the candle jar. When this happens, your candle will not achieve the maximum burn time as subsequent burns will not burn past the first melted wax pool ‘ring’.

To prevent this, always light the wick and keep it burning till melt pool reaches the edges of the jar, but no more than 4h. Please also place your candle on an even surface and away from any fans, open windows or doors, air conditioners, and vents.

Why is the candle melting only on one side/the candle wax is pooling in one spot and now the flame is really small?

You have most likely placed the candle on uneven surface or it is in a drafty area. To prevent this, please place your candle on an even surface and away from any fans, open windows or doors, air conditioners, and vents.

Can I blow out the candle to put out the flame?

No. Doing this will cause smoke to fill the room leaving a burnt smell. You may cover with lid to snuff out flame instead. Cover tightly to prevent the smoke from escaping.

How soon can I re-light the candle?

You may re-light the candle as soon as the melted wax returns to its solid state.
